2009-2010

Doohamlet Youth Club was reformed in September 2004 after being non-existent for a number of years.
The youth club meets from Sept-May each year in Golden Jubilee Hall Doohamlet from 7pm-8.30pm on a Friday night. New members are always welcome, just drop in on the night or talk to anyone who is a member. The club is open to youths aged 12 years and up. It currently has 15 leaders and over 30 youth members. The club doesn't run over the summer months as it clashes with Gaelic football matches.

In 2009/2010 some of the activities have included indoor soccer, basketball, table tennis, pool, Samba Drumming Classes, Drama and Dance, Arts and Crafts, Concerts and a First Aid course.

2008-2009 Youth Club Events

Doohamlet Youth Club had a very busy time in the 2008-2009 season. During the year games were held in the hall including soccer, basketball, and badminton. We also had various trips to the cinema and bowling alley. In November we held our annual table quiz.

Many of the members took part in the Youth Work Ireland Variety Competition in the Comedy and Spotlight Section. Heats were held in Corcaghan and Doneyloop in Donegal before getting through to the All Ireland finals in Maynooth, a wonderful success as the comedy group got runner-up medals and Shane Cumiskey won first place for his recitation in the Spotlight section.

A Variety show was staged by the Youth Club during Easter 2009, special thanks to Terista Cumiskey for helping with the sketches. In June 2009 the club had its annual summer outing to Lilliput Adventure Centre in Westmeath for a day of "bog hopping", kayaking, orienteering and zip wiring.
